Hello Columbia families,
You should have received the email from our administration this morning regarding Governor Brown’s decision to close K-12 schools in the state of Oregon through the month of March. Our goal is to continue pursuing excellence and minimize interruptions to the learning process - despite not being able to gather together in physical classrooms during this time.
Here are some additional details and clarification:
- Starting this afternoon, students will not be on our campus until Wednesday, April 1.
- We are implementing “At-Home/Digital Learning” for the week of March 16-20 as well as Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31. Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade will have work to complete those days.
- Spring Break is still scheduled for the week of March 23-27. Students are not expected to complete school work during that break.
K-7th GRADE STUDENTS
Learning packets are being sent home with every child today. Teachers will be communicating with parents through email each day regarding academic expectations. If your child was absent today, you may pick up his/her learning packet from Mrs. Barrett in the Outlaw Center office on Monday, March 16, between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm.
8th-12th GRADE STUDENTS
Our high school students already have experience with online learning, and our teachers and IT staff dedicated time today to prepare students and their tablets for the weeks ahead. Digital learning days officially begin for 8th-12th grade students on Tuesday, March 17.
In consultation with public health authorities, we will communicate again on Wednesday, March 25, to confirm or adjust our return date for students on campus (currently anticipated for Wednesday, April 1).
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Blessings,
The Columbia Christian Administrative Team
