In March Columbia’s Biology 2 science class hunted for amphibians at Kelly Creek with the help of Dr. Katie Holzer, an amphibian specialist. There to observe the eggs of various amphibians and record the quantity and location, they were given the opportunity to see first hand the environment and learn that these creatures are important to the environment because they are early indicators of pollution in an area. In order to complete this task the students had to don waders and head deep into the creek.
