Beginning August 1, 2009, Columbia Christian Schools has begun an exclusive 12-month lease of the gym building and soccer field at the Cascade College campus. Along with the gym building and soccer field, Columbia is finalizing a purchase of the parking lot on the corner of Everett and 91st.
The lease of the gym building in particular includes not only the gym, weight room and all lobby and offices spaces, but also two classrooms on the second floor. The two classrooms include a science lab and a brand new classroom across the hall from the science classroom.
Along with this lease, Columbia is beginning the Walk of Faith campaign (http://www.columbiachristianbrick.com/). The primary aim of this campaign is to raise funds to purchase the Cascade campus in its entirety. Currently, Bara Properties holds a 10-month master lease of the Cascade campus, and Columbia maintains its first right of refusal to purchase the campus. The Walk of Faith campaign is part of Columbia’s efforts to achieve the goal of purchasing the Cascade campus in a timely and prudent fashion.
As Columbia works toward this goal, we are happily partnering with Bara Properties. With each new prospective tenant on Cascade’s campus, Bara Properties consults with Columbia to ensure that the new tenant is a good fit for our school. Bara Properties have gone out of their way to work with Columbia and they have the best interests of Columbia in mind as they work towards leasing the Cascade campus.
It is exciting to be a part of this process, and we look forward to God’s continued grace and work at Columbia Christian Schools.
