Our middle school is comprised of grades 6-8. The middle school curriculum is based on state standards and best practices for middle level education. The academic day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:15 pm. Middle school students have seven periods daily. Each day is a combination of 47-minute periods that meet daily, and one 90-minute period that rotates between electives and science courses. Middle school students also participate in at least two 20-minute chapel times each week. The school year begins the Wednesday after Labor Day holiday and ends the second Friday in June.
Every morning begins with a Homeroom class, comprised of students in the same grade level. The middle school curriculum includes year-long core classes in Bible, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science (including Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science), and Social Sciences (including Geography, World History, and U.S. History).
Each middle school student also participates in a semester-long Academic Success course. One semester focuses on skills for success in school, and the other focuses on health education.
Middle school students rotate elective classes each quarter including Art, Computers, Drama, and Student Leadership.
Middle school students are involved in occasional field trips designed to enhance the curriculum. Secondary teachers teach all subjects from a Christian perspective.
