Columbia Christian Schools
New Athletic Director Announced

July 2017

Columbia Christian is pleased to announce the hiring of Bart Valentine as Athletic Director.

Mr. Valentine has served Columbia since 2016 as both a head coach and a substitute teacher for high school math courses. He is an exceptional mentor and leader, and he brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Most recently, Bart served for 10 years as the Director of Athletics at Warner Pacific College. During his tenure there, he built a thriving athletic program, guiding it through the process of becoming a member of the NAIA, more than doubling the number of sport programs available to students, and more than tripling student participation in athletics. In 2008, Bart was named the NAIA Regional Athletic Director of the Year. Bart also worked with alumni and led major fundraising campaigns for the athletic department. Perhaps most impressively, Bart developed a program to engage athletes in service projects with local churches in the northwest. His passion for athletics as a vehicle to mentor students and further God’s kingdom is evident.

"I am excited about the opportunity to lead the athletic department at Columbia Christian Schools,” Bart commented. “I am committed to furthering the mission of a Christ-centered education that strives for excellence in faith, character, and academics. I believe athletics at Columbia Christian are poised to make a significant impact, both on the courts and the fields, as well as in the lives of our student athletes. I look forward to being a part of that." We are very pleased to welcome Bart into this full-time role at Columbia Christian. Bart will officially begin his work on August 1, 2017. Bart and his wife, Becky, currently have one grandchild enrolled at Columbia Christian Schools.
